The Department of Jobs and Small Business works to two Ministers, the Minister for Jobs and Industrial Relations and Minister for Women, The Hon Kelly O'Dwyer MP and the Minister for Small and Family Business, Skills and Vocational Education, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash.
Secretary Kerri Hartland and the deputy secretaries are responsible for the delivery of the department’s services.

The plan, which is a requirement under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, will be reported against in the Annual Report 2018–19.
