Nearly a year ago, Ghulam Abbas arrived in Australia as a refugee from Afghanistan. He was only 19 and alone in Australia without any family support. He was very keen to continue his secondary education but his applications to attend a number of different schools were rejected.
Transition to Work provider, Mission Australia became Ghulam’s advocates and quickly found him a place at high school mid-way through term three. Ghulam has been working very hard to achieve his education goals and has a bright future thanks to Mission Australia's Transition to Work service.
If you are 15-21 and haven’t completed school, Transition to Work can connect you with education services including traineeships and apprenticeships.
