Parents of Young Children Survey

This page provides information about a survey of parents of young children that will take place in June and July 2017.

The Department of Jobs and Small Business is undertaking a survey of parents of young children. The survey is about parents’ local communities, their current circumstances and their future goals in relation to employment and education.

The Department has engaged the Social Research Centre (SRC) to undertake the research with two groups:

  • Parents of young children
  • Parents of young children who are (or have previously been) in the ParentsNext program. This group will be asked additional questions about their experiences in ParentsNext.

From June 2017, the SRC will invite a selection of parents of young children to participate in the survey. You may be contacted via letter, email or telephone. You can complete the survey online or by telephone.

If the SRC contacts you, we encourage you to participate in the research. The information you provide will help inform the evaluation of ParentsNext being undertaken by the Department. It will also help us learn more about your experiences as parents with young children and better ways in which we can assist you with your future transitions to study or work.
