The Holden Transition Centre has been set up to respond to the closure of the auto manufacturing industry. It is designed to assist former employees and assist businesses wanting to recruit from the pool of people exiting auto manufacturing. The centre functions as a way for businesses and exiting auto manufacturing employees to connect with each other. It provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for information about where the employment opportunities are and will be in the next 2-3 years. Holden’s Transition Support program will continue to prepare job seekers for new careers and support those opting for retirement for up to two years after the factory closed. This video profiles some people who have benefitted from the Transition Centre.
